9Pay Achieves the Highest Level of International PCI DSS Security Certification

On the morning of December 21, 2023, CMC Cyber Security awarded the highest level of international PCI DSS security certification to 9Pay. The ceremony was held at the 9Pay headquarters, attended by Mr. Ha The Phuong - CEO of CMC Cyber Security and members of the CMC project team. Representatives from 9Pay included Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - PCI DSS Project Manager and management staff from relevant departments.

It is known that PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a globally recognized information security standard and a mandatory requirement for service providers such as payment gateways and data centers. It is managed by five international payment organizations: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB. The PCI DSS is authorized for management by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

9Pay receives the highest level PCI DSS certification

At the ceremony, Mr. Ha The Phuong, CEO of CMC Cyber Security, emphasized the importance of the PCI DSS certificate to 9Pay payment gateway. Through this, both parties have built trust and opened up comprehensive cooperation opportunities in ensuring the safety and security of customer information.

According to this, CMC is a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) certified by the PCI SSC, fully capable and authorized to conduct PCI DSS certification assessments. Therefore, 9Pay chose to collaborate with CMC Cyber Security, a leading and reputable international certification assessment organization in Vietnam, to obtain the PCI DSS security certification. This is a clear testament to the quality of the security system at the 9Pay payment gateway.

After six months of testing and evaluation, the 9Pay payment gateway was certified by CMC Cyber Security as meeting the 12 main groups of requirements with 182 detailed requirements of PCI DSS. The certification awarded to 9Pay is the latest version of PCI DSS, with stricter rules on data access, including multi-factor authentication, the addition of designated subjects, and executive management responsibilities.

Also, at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - 9Pay's PCI DSS Project Manager shared: “We are very honored that the 9Pay payment gateway has been awarded the highest level of PCI DSS security certification. We will continuously upgrade our information security, deserving to be a safe payment intermediary in Vietnam and elevating our status internationally.”

The PCI DSS certification opens new doors for 9Pay in deploying new business projects and expanding cooperative relationships.
